Places I've been

Ok, with last night's post I again seem to have gone a bit overboard in terms of length, so I'll keep it very short today.

Saw this on Berta's blog - it's a personalized map of all the countries you've been to in the world. Looking at mine, I suppose I really need to do some catching up in Europe. You can sign up for free and generate your own map at world66.com.

By the way, it looks like you can set it up to display the places you want to go to in addition to the places you've been, but I haven't played with that yet - too much thought required to decide where I want to go.

Haha, yeah.. their site's kinda slow today. That's why I made a copy of my map and stored it on Blogger. :P

baaaack in my day (wobbles hand on cane while speaking in shaky voice) when we wanted to download a custom-generated GIF, we had to go find the village scribe and ask him to copy the one's and zero's down with his quill pen, even if you had to sit in line outside his hut while he took care of three Gutenberg bibles ahead of you! Yeeeah, we didn't have any of these faaancy daaancy internet routers or packet-switching. And if the village scribe's pen ran outta ink, ohhh boy, you didn't just go down to the store to buy some more, no sir. You had to wade into the ocean and catch a squid with your bare hands! And if it was the middle of January, well, tough! We waded right into the ice cold water just the same, and we liked it!

Haha, you're one to talk, miss "two lines, three times a month." :P

Yeah, it seems kinda cheap that even though I've only been to Montreal and Toronto, I get credit for all of Canada - that's a lot of pixels. Consider that Israel and the Palestinian Authority together constitute literally seven pixels. Come to think of it, China's kinda cheap, too, in terms of pixels I got per actual amount of the country I've seen.

I really do want to see Vancouver though. I hear they have good sushi there. :P

Thanks for the link! That's fun. Looks like you've got Asia covered.

Hmm... well, to some degree. Definitely want to go back to China, and the big question right now is: Taiwan in January or not?
